Texas’ Stuffed Animal Drive Benefits Operation Blue Santa
CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, will be hosting their 5th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night on Saturday, November 23rd at Cedar Park Center.
On Saturday as Texas battles the Toronto Marlies at 7:00 p.m., the team encourages all fans to bring a teddy bear or other new stuffed animal to the game and throw it on the ice when the Stars score their first goal of the game. All stuffed animals collected at the Teddy Bear Toss will be donated to Operation Blue Santa as part of the Stars’ participation in the Chuy’s Children Giving to Children Parade on November 30th. Fans who bring a stuffed animal to the game for the Teddy Bear Toss will also receive a voucher for one free ticket to the Wednesday, November 27th home game against the Oklahoma City Barons. BOB FM will be broadcasting live at Cedar Park Center on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to help promote this great cause. Over the last two seasons, the Stars’ Teddy Bear Toss collected more than 2,700 stuffed animals for Operation Blue Santa, which benefits under privileged children during the holidays.
In addition, The Parking Spot, the official airport parking company of the Texas Stars, will be collecting new, unwrapped toys at all remaining November home games to donate to Operation Blue Santa. Fans that bring a toy to the Ice Patrol Fan Zone behind section 121 during the last three November home games will be entered to win a VIP experience at a future Stars game courtesy of The Parking Spot. The Texas Stars and The Parking Spot also team up to enter a float in the Chuy’s Parade.
Saturday’s game is another Coke Zero Family Four Pack night, a Texas Lottery Lucky Row night and is the Stars’ Sweatshirt Drawstring Backpack giveaway presented by University Federal Credit Union. Also on Saturday the Stars will host a post-game open ice session, where fans can skate or walk onto the ice to take pictures.
The Texas Stars will complete their current road trip on Tuesday, November 19th as they face the Hamilton Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. CT at Copps Coliseum. Texas’ next home game is on Friday, November 22nd against the San Antonio Rampage at 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Park Center. The game against San Antonio is a $3 Beer & $4 Robert Mondavi Private Selection Wine Night and is the Stars Fleece Ear Warmer giveaway.
